I respectfully request voters to grant me one more term as Justice of the Peace, Precinct One, in Collin County. I have served in this position for 27 years, and if elected, this will be my final term before retirement. I was appointed Administrative Judge by the Collin County Commissioners Court for all four of the county’s Justice Courts.

This month marks 34 years of dedicated service with Collin County. My first eight years were spent as a criminal investigator for the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, followed by 27 years serving as Justice of the Peace, Precinct One. I hold thousands of hours of education in criminal and civil law and am a graduate of the College of Justice Court Judges (since 2005).

Since taking office in 1999, I have worked to modernize the court to the near-paperless level achievable today. My office employs seven staff members, and I take pride in ensuring that callers reach a real person—there is no automated voicemail menu; you will always speak directly with someone who can assist you.

Without using funds from Collin County taxpayers, I have upgraded the court with the latest electronic equipment to enhance litigants’ courtroom presentations. I am a lifetime member of the Justice of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas and the Texas Justice Court Judges Association. I have also served as an instructor at the Justice Court Training Center and have been invited to mentor judges in the North Texas region by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.

Throughout my career, I have volunteered on numerous boards and commissions and have served as emcee for many community events.

Thank you for the wonderful career you afforded me.  I ask for your vote so I may finish my last term as your Justice of the Peace.
